PRE-APPRENTICESHIP DURATION

16 WEEKS

WEEKS 1-3

CLASSROOM TRAINING

Pre-Apprenticeship students participate in our intensive 3 week program that consists of a half day training in their chosen Building / Construction Related Field and a half day learning Soft / Life Skills. The Soft / Life Skills classes are taught by our certified CBT Coaches.

Our HBI trainers hold a minimum of 5 years experience in the building / construction industry and are certified by the Home Builders Institute to teach the PACT programs.

WEEKS 4-16

ON THE JOB & CLASSROOM TRAINING

In week 4 Pre-Apprentices are placed with employers and begin paid on the job training at a discounted rate of just $10 per hour. During weeks 4-16 apprentices spend 4 days a week with employers for on the job training and 1 day a week in the classroom to continue construction knowledge and soft / life skills training. Our coaches work and communicate with employers, associates, foremen and team leaders to ensure all participants complete the tasks, assignments and assessments in conjunction with employer’s day to day business / projects. This allows us to qualify and certify participants accordingly.

GRADUATION

Upon successful completion of course work, exams, soft / life skills training and on the job training with employers after 16 weeks, pre-apprentices will graduate with certifications that are nationally recognized by the Department of Labor, HBI and HBA. They are now certified with foundational skills and eligible to work as qualified workers in the building and construction industry.
